Ok so a friend of mines is very pregnant with twins, she's do in about 3 weeks. she is on strict bed rest. She is married and has a 6 year old little boy, I called and told her I was going to come down to her house over the weekend and help her with a few things like food shopping and laundry. She insits her errands are all taken care of, and that it would be nice to just visit. But I still feel I should do something to help her. I was thinking I could cook up some meals for her that she could freeze and just have her husband pull out and warm up...good idea? if so what are some good casseroles that are easy and quick and kid friendly? Thanks for looking!! Kerri

don't ask. just show up and do it. my ex and i have twins together and there was no way she could have done the things she thought she should when my work schedule was so full (overtime for the extras we needed). friends and family would come over out of the blue and just do things. she felt guilty but was very appreciative of the help. just having a friendly face around was enough to make her smile and relax. and relaxing in her state is all she should have to worry about.

Being a Mom of twins I would say that cooking up some meals to put in the freezer would be fantastic!
Another good idea would be to make sauces for pasta, freeze in containers with enough for one meal.
Visiting with her will be nice as well, I wasn't bed ridden, so I can only imagine what it is like not to be able to do anything but lie in bed.
If you live near by, stopping by once week so that she can have a break, even if it's only for an hour will truly help.
When my babies were born, I had lots of help the first month or so, then people stopped coming by.
Here is a link for some casserole ideas.

I just had twin boys 3 months ago and I was on strict bedrest for 5 months. The food thing is a great idea! I would suggest things like lasagna, chicken, and even sauces for pasta. The one thing I loved was visitors. I was the same way, I hated asking for help. I couldn't even accept help from my own husband. Show up with her favorite meal or snack and a movie she has been dying to see. You can also offer to take her son for a walk or something like that. A little quiet time is always appreciated.

She will probably need more help after the twins are born, I think making stuff she only has to pop into the oven would be a great thing, with twins she is going to tired and busy. Look online for casserole ideas that are good from freezer to oven and be sure to put them in disposable aluminum pans so she does not even have to wash them!!!
