Yes, some infants do survive them. Apparently, the US Congress overwhelmingly thought these infants should receive treatment, but support for the proposition is not unanimous:

first off seeing that you have testerone running in your blood i don't think you should have an opnion on this matter unless in the future men can become pregnant, also it is a fetus or an embryo and infant is a baby 3 months or older and a newborn is 1 day to three months.. also if a woman were to go into early labor before 26 weeks (the cut off for abortion varies but is mostly 9 to 24 weeks) the chances of survival are slim to none it has happened but the hospital and doctors caring for these premature babies must be top notch and the survival rate is verry low so why don't you get off your propangda hourse and shut up seeing as your a man i think you should have no say in what we women do i also did so research and suriving fetus are even rarer than a premie who was born before 26 weeks what your saying is just a bunch of lies spread by the pro life movement . seeing as i am a women who was at one point told that not only would my baby be born dead and disfugred in many ways i still chose to have the baby but i did seriously (so did my hubby) think about having an abortion so untill you give birth to a dead baby maybe you should think twice about bringing up this subject and if i get pregnant ever again and my doc tells me that the baby has problems like this again i will have an abortion there is nothing worse than what my husband and i went through and we wont go through it again

Maybe they think its the ethical thing to do but when you consider that these babies are not fully developed they are prone to have many medical problems. These problems way exceed actual survival such as cerbreal palsy and mental retardation.
While it is great to save a life whats the quality of life for the one saved?
So in essence my answer is hell no! There are enough kids out there with developmental problems as a result of a million other things. And I am not saying that they would be a burdern on society or anything like that. I just work with some of these types of kids and I see on a regular basis the struggles they have to endure. Some of them will never have any type of quality of life, sad to say but true.

A better question is why are doctor's not charged with murder when they kill these babies on the spot or leave them to die.
It is out and out murder. If the Mother did the same thing she would be put in jail for life. The doctor makes money for killing babies and old people.

Yes they should, and the doctor who botched up the procedure should be arrested.
