i think a number of reasons,at the end of 1944
it was allready clear, that germany would be defeated, but the bomb was still in the testing
fase.
furthermore,it was a different situation,in japan
there where only japanese ,and no allied troops
on the ground.
its also possible, that they where foreseeing a
coming problem with the communists.
and they where needing germany to recover fast, after the war was over.
the only other reason, they would have,to use the bomb
in germany, was the development stage of the bomb by the germans, but it never game that far
in may 45 the war with germany was over.
the rest is history

Originally, the Manhattan Project was used to be able to make an Atomic Bomb before Germany could and therefore the project started. However, as the project continued, Germany collapsed in May 1945. The first Atom Bomb test was on July 26, 1945, in New Mexico state. By then people were angered by the fact that the war in the Pacific had not ended and the Americain Government did not want to lose any more lives at the hands of the Japanese. so President Henry S. Truman ordered that the Atom Bomb was to be used. Actually, the city of Hiroshima was attacked because the other target Kyoto was asked to be preserved by a US general and also that the other targets were covered in cloud. So Hiroshima was attacked, and the rest is History.

Supply and demand, simple supply side economics, that bomb was not made stable to drop until after Germany had surrendered, it was still kinda questionable if the thing would work or destroy all of humanity. The choice was made , it was tested, it went BOOM! and then it was thought that to invade Japan would cause too many casualties on each side and the bomb was an efficient as well as affective way to bring the war to a fast end for less expenditures.
I do not like that we had to use that bomb. I do not like that an atomic bomb exists anywhere on the Earth. Humanity has already shown that it has the ability to wage Atomic War, so it is just a matter of time before it is used again.
When that happens, all of Humanity is paradise lost.

The atomic device was first tested in Alamogordo, on July 16, 1945 and was quickly followed by the bombing of Hiroshima (6 August) and Nagasaki (9 August).
Germany had already capitulated (10-11 May, 1945) one month before the Alamogordo test explosion was performed.

Part of it was that we didnt have to. We were doing well enough with conventional forces. Japan, being an isald, was harder to invade and wouyld have caused huge casualties. Also, psychologically, Americans by and large werent prepared to drop atomic weapons on European countries where their parents and grandparents had come from. In Japan, the fallout was mostly contained to the island. BUt the fallout of a nuke in Berlin would cruise over Poland and into Russia, and at that time who knew what effects it mighht have on friendly neighboring countries like France?

Japan dropped bombs at Pearl Harbour and this really make Americans lose face and a matter of revenge too whereas Germany did not directly attack America and its territory's. I am not a historian though.

I suppose its because Japan is an island nation, and the deaths were mostly Japanese. We hated the Japanese more too because they attacked us. They were different looking than us.
Savages. The Germans, also hated by us, got more respect from us.

Didn't need it. Germany was collapsing.
Japan, on the other hand, could have held out for - 1 to 2 years. And the casualties would be major (Operation Olympia).
