I would request a vataction day. That way you are not stressed from work when you go to an afternoon interview. You will have the morning to eat, relax and prepare for the interview. Leaving work early or going on your lunch doesnt give you any time to prepare. You will want to touch up your hair and makeup and get your thoughts together on the interveiw. Rushing or having your mind on other things could cost you the job.

Request a day off. Because that way if you don't get you dream job, you still have a good job waiting for you, and you don't have to lie to keep it. Go to your boss and claim that you need the afternoon of Wednesday off for personal reasons and you hope that that's okay. If he declines, you'll have to go on your lunch, but if he accepts you're golden to go to the interview and even get some chores done (not that that's fun, but it is necessary). However, if you often take vacation days or sick days, your last option is to go on you lunch because you've lost a lot of trust that way.

Any would work, except for the faking sickness. Call in sick or request a vacation day or a long lunch.

This very typical of any job interview you will ever have. There are usually 2 rounds of interviews, depending on the complexity and level of the job. At Apple Computer I had 4 rounds of interviews. What has happened to you is a good sign...an indicator that they are interested in hiring you. Your follow-up interview will probably be with a shift manager or supervisor. They usually bring the top 3-4 people back in for follow-up interviews and pick the top candidate from that group. Good luck.

Call in sick. You don't want anything happens at work that would ruin your chance to go interview. If you request a vacation day, they may ask you not to (because they have urgent project, etc.)

tell your boss that you have something personal to take care of and need the day off. if he tells you to use a vacation day, so be it
because you could potentially be getting your dream job and it won't matter anyway. good luck with the interview.
