I think you are talking about that movie with Joan Crawford & Bette Davis. It's called "Whatever Happened to Baby Jane?" I know b/c my mother loves that movie. Bette is in the wheel chair, she is Baby Jane, and Joan is jealous of her. I think Bette finally becomes tough and leaves her abusive sister; she pushes her down the stairs. Think it's in black and white. It was actually made in 1962. Bette was very old in it so it couldn't have been in the 40's or 50's. But you would think that b/c it looks like of that time. You say the jealous sis does the pushing. I'm not sure which one of us is right on that. But I do think it is the movie you're asking about. It's a great movie; Classic!

Whatever Happened to Baby Jane (1962) with Joan Crawford and Bette Davis.
Plot Summary:
Two aging film actresses live as virtual recluses in an old Hollywood mansion. Jane Hudson (Bette Davis), a successful child star, cares for her crippled sister Blanche (Joan Davis), who's career in later years eclipsed that of Jane. What ever happened to Baby Jane.
It had Bette Davis and Joan Crawford in it. Bette Davis was the mean one. Joan Crawford was the victim.
