Because they are proud of where they live. I can understand that! Seems to me the most ones are about Texas. at first I thought it was the same person, but I don't think so. I am from Michigan and while we have one of the worst economies in the US i still love it. People have to admit we ARE the coolest shaped state in the union!

Maybe to get travel ideas.
Different states have different things to offer, someone might say "I live in ______ and I love it because we have lots of stuff to do here, like go to ______, _______, and _______"
