Not afraid of either.

Although I have had what I felt to be poor customer service from a government agency on a couple of occasions - in general I have found both police and government representatives to be reasonable and efficient.

Afraid that they are idiots? Oh perhaps.

Why do you know that statistic? Because you've been in jail? How the heck do we know why you know a statistic as common knowledge?

Government - no
Police - yes

I have never been arrested, but most of the police that I have known are gung-ho, drive fast, run the siren, ego boys who are just wearing the uniform and toting a gun cause it makes them feel important. I work parttime with one now, who struts around like a Banty Rooster and thinks he's Officer Cool Dude. This feeling does not apply to the Highway Patrolmen I have known. They seem to be a professional group who act their age. The sheriff in our county even likes to dress up like Matt Dillon and ride around on his horse with an accompanying posse at public events. They all have matching bandanas and hats. I quit playing cowboys and Indians when I reached 12 years old.

I have been in jail and for years I feared the police. During those years I was guilty of crimes so I had a reason to fear them but it was not because they were bad it was because I was. I no longer need to fear anyone and the cops are my friends. got my act together and my problems went away. Its funny how that works.

Why would that scare me? That statistic is reasonable. If people obey the law, the dont go to jail. It is that simple

if you cowar and dont stand up for what is right it will only get worse , society is almost designed that many will not speakup , they mind there own buisness untill it ends up on there door step.
if you live in the states this is odviously very legitimate not so much here in the UK .

Government no, Police yes, I've never been in trouble in my life, but cops terrify me. All they have to do is feel threatned and they'll shoot you or taser you, and they shoot to kill. Usually they get away with it.

The police can beat you, taser you, shoot you, even kill you. There is nothing you can do about it.
