All of my long sleeve shirts have two buttons on the cuff and one button to close the gap above the cuff. Why are there two buttons if there is only one button hole?

one is an extra, in case you lose one, but it's also for show

there are 2 bottons so that the shirt cuff can be ajusted to one's wrist size.

I think you roll the shirt up and use the other button for the men's shirt.

They might want to leave the sleeve down and button it to adjust it, or the might want them folded up!

To adjust to wrist sizes. Some guys have thinner or thicker wrists.
