What could be more important than the health of a nation's people? It is the basis for EVERYTHING! It should never be run as a business, and doctors should be ashamed to be profiting from the sickness of others! I am a capitalist, and I believe in a person's right to make as much money as they possibly can...but when it comes to a person's health - their life or death - how can we allow doctors to be profiting? They will argue that they spend hundreds of thousands of dollars for education...and they need to pay it back. So how bout this? We take our tax dollars and set up free medical schools. The students will, of course, have to maintain marks in the high nineties. Then, when they graduate, they become government workers...with a set wage. This will allow them to fulfill their oath of healing and weed out all those who have God complexes and aspirations for wealth. Healthcare would be much more affordable for all - and the country's health - in general - would improve. How's that for a Utopian society????

If anyone receives student aid or student loans to be a doctor, dentist, or lawyer, make part of their repayment of student loans be service to the community. Lets say we cut their student loans in half if they preform their service to those without insurance at the local health department. Lets just say they preform this service until all student loans are paid in full. This would be the cheapest way to provide healthcare without raising taxes.

Stop making some people pay other people's medical bills and stop the AMA from limiting the number of seats in medical schools.

And based on some of these "anti-profit" posts others have made, make Econ 101 a mandatory part of the high school curriculum.

I would see that authorization for this type of spending is nowhere to be found in the Constitution or Amendments, thus making it illegal for the government to be spending money on it, and I would end government spending on it. It is a state issue, not a federal issue.
