No. I don't really trust anyone. It is a byproduct of the things I have experienced as a member of American society.
There is a "me first" mentality and people will lie at the drop of a hat, so it is not prudent to trust anyone.

I have a certain baseline level of trust I grant to everyone, until they've destroyed that trust. i.e. that they aren't going to attack me for no reason, that they will act with some typical social decorum, that they won't just start spreading lies about me. Most people fulfill this level of trust. I wouldn't trust just anyone with the safety of my family, with taking care of my savings, or the running of the country.
Greater levels of trust must be earned, and once earned, if lost, is much harder to earn back.

Americans or any one else in particular has nothing to do with trust. Some people are just not trustworthy.

Yes, I trust my husband, my best friend, and my oldest child. The younger one, not always, but he's given my reason not to.
Mostly I prefer to assume people are basically good, unless I'm proven wrong. I try to be happy in my life, and assuming everyone is bad and dishonest would not make me happy.

well im in the UK so im not american, i trust most people i meet until they give me a reason to not trust them, but it takes a lot of hard graft to get my full trust, simply because ppl are so mean these days, not all of them its just you find that one person who'll tell everyone everything about yo, its just mean.

I trust most people unless my instincts tell me otherwise, then I tend to keep them at arms length until I can pinpoint my uneasiness,by which time I can decide whether or not I want to fcuk them off.

I don't trust anyone. I only trust myself. It's kind of hard to explain.
