Being so sick probably messed her cycle up. Take another Test if she does not get her period by the end of next week and relax. Either way, it is not the end of the world. Really! Good luck to both of you.

as some others have already stated, being sick can cause a late or even completely missed period. Also antibiotics (which if she had bacterial brochitis she wouldve been on) can cause birth control to lose affectiveness. Plus there is always a chance anyway, Im about to give birth to my 4th child and 2 were "pill babys" You also have to keep in mind though that if she is just now missing her period if she is indeed pregnant she is not far along. With my current pregnancy I was in a doctors office for bloodwork and they tested for pregnancy as well and the results came back negative.....2 weeks later i had a positive urine test and was 6 weeks along. Wait a week or so and if her period still hasnt shown up take another test or if in doubt call a doctor.

Periods aren't always exactly on time, especially if she's been sick. Depending on when you think she may have gotten pregnant (3 weeks ago or 3 days ago), the test should be accurate, over 96% I believe, much the The Pill. Condoms are only about 84% effective.
Just relax. Give it some time. It's not as if knowing now or knowing a week from now is going to make the difference.
Good luck, champ!

There could be a possibility she is pregnant if she was on an antibiotic, some antibiotics will make the pill ineffective. The test might not have gotten a clear reading if she is not late yet. That does not mean she is pregnant. If she is more than a week late test again. Then if it is negative she should go to the doctor. You can get false negatives, but you should never get a false positive.

Sorry, man. I know what that's like... A woman's body is a weird thing. So much can affect that. Her bonding with other women can realign her menstrual cycle, being in a relationship where she has constant closeness with a male partner can change it. I went on a business trip and my girlfriend was late for two weeks. If the pregnancy test is showing up negative, have a little faith in that. Her insides are just going wacky, probably. Whatever happens, it's a human life, you know? Best of luck.

ANTIBIOTICS CANCEL OUT THE EFFECTS OF THE PILL... THIS IS THE REASON I HAVE A BEAUTIFUL NEW BABY COUSIN!!! but its too early to tell either way. i would wait at least 7 more days. dont waste ur money on any more tests until then. she may not have been on antibiotics but i would check. my cousin was taking birth ctrl and she got sick and started taking anti biotics cuz she got sick and they counter-acted her b.c. ...9 mos later amayah was born! besides u can still get pregnant on the pill, even if u dont get sick im sure many women on here could tell u. its not 100% effective. u should still be using a condom. NO GLOVE NO LOVE! anyway, no preg test is better than the other. u can get one from the dollar store. what u need to do is WAIT.

i missed my period for a year once and I was never pregnant. If she works out a lot or is really lean she can miss periods. You have to have at least 13 percent body fat to support a baby and to get a period so if you have under that you will miss your period. Stress can also delay and if you are worried about the possibility of you got her pregnant that could also delay the period a few more days. Good luck

It's a baby, not the end of the world. Negative preg tests can be wrong.so give it some time. It all depends on how much of the preg hormone is in her body. If she's good with her BC then it could just be stress or the flu. Relax. Being nervous and worrying will change nothing.

If she doesn't get her period soon then she needs to keep taking tests. I was 6 weeks late before my test came back positive.

I would say so - women have late periods for many reasons, and if she has been ill, this maybe 1 reason. She is not techinally late yet, so dont panic too much - just re-test in a few days if she hasnt had her period and then take it from there
(my opinion is you have no worries!!)
