The Greyhound station is serviced by local transit. However I would suggest using Megabus instead of Greyhound as they have nicer buses, lower fares and faster service to many cities in the Midwest. Additionally, Amtrak has several departures to/from Detroit.

If your car isn't nice then yeah you could park it there. Be sure to protect your self downtown. Have your wallet in your front pocket, keep an eye on your luggage and be safe. I live right by Detroit. Not the safest area of Michigan. Greyhound Buses are nice when traveling with a group. Make sure you have locks on all your luggage. If you are traveling in winter were some warm clothes it cold right now.

Not the nicest part of town.......near Howard Str & the Lodge Freeway.

You might try parking over at the MGM casino and walk over to the bus terminal. I am not sure how/if they would handle long term parking.

If you park on the street in that area, your car might not be there when you get back!
