I am 40 weeks pregnant. I have tried sex and walking. I tried castor oil, but I threw up not 10 seconds after drinking it. Would an enema or laxative in pill form do the same trick? My cervix is soft but has not yet started to thin or dilate.

Just to give a little more detail, I have tried castor oil but threw up not 10 seconds after drinking it. I have also tried walking and sex. I have hyperemesis, so the nausea vomitting and cramping is something that I've had for the past 8 months anyway. I asked my doctor and he suggested that I keep trying sex and maybe go walking.

Why not just let nature take its course. Nobody can say 100 percent when they conceived so rushing a baby out makes no sense. It is probably more stressful for you and your baby to be vomiting and have the cramping associated with enemas than just waiting until your time. You need to relax, get a book and put your feet up instead of attempting all of these endeavours that may end up causing you more harm than good. What is a couple more days? Your ob/gyn would give you this same advice.

your best bet is to just wait patiently the baby will come when its ready inknkow from experience how ready you feel to get it over with i have five kids and the youngest is 5 months old i treid alot of things to induce and to tell you the truth nothing will work if the baby isnt ready.....when he/she is ready they will make their entrance into this world just be patient....good luck to you and your new one

dont try and force the baby out he/she will come when ready!!
i went overdue with 3 of mine which is horrible but they just were not ready to come, lets face it nobody has ever been pregnant forever!!!
