I'm old school, I still love Scooby-Doo! The characters are so hilarious and different from each other. Defiantly one of the best cartoons of its time!
Also, I like Aqua Teen Hunger Force and Sea Lab. Oh! What was that cartoon with the little nerdy boy and his sister Dede? I love that one too!

Were you asking about television or print? Some of us older people remember having to wait until Saturday mornings to watch cartoons between about 6am and 11 am, then it was back to the boring 3 broadcast networks and PBS.
Cartoon to me means Bloom County, Garfield, Calvin and Hobbes, which were usually found in the daily newspaper.
As far a TV...Road Runner or Tom and Jerry. Nothing like watching a couple of characters deal each other an a$$ whoopin' no matter how unrealistic it was.

My favorite cartoon is Scooby Doo because I enjoy how Shaggy acts like a complete coward.

The Transformers
It had action, adventure, humor, and even some adult themes (not THOSE type of adult themes, get your mind out of the gutter)
From the big one, Optimus Prime's death and rebirth, to the Starscream's constant need to betray Megatron. Spike's inner turmoil when his mind was placed inside the body of Autobot X. Rodimus's constant self-doubt at his leadership abilities.
It was an amazing show and that is why it still resonates today in new incarnations that only pale in comparison to the original.

I'm sorry, i have to set the record straight: Naruto, Samurai X(and it's accompanying tv series Rurouni Kenshin), Transformers, Bleach, and Fullmetal alchemist are not cartoons. they are anime. There IS a difference

Mine is a tried and true classic that has withstood the test of time (not to mention several generations of family members).
Scooby -Dooby- Doo!!
Scooby-Doo lets you know it's OK to be different, You have the smart girl, hippy guy, rich chick, and popular guy all in one crowd. It also says that as long as you have friends you can accomplish even the hardest mysteries (problems). The message closest to my heart: The love of a good dog will take you far. (Ro-K Raggy?) Um, and on a funnier note: People will get tired of seeing you in the same clothes all the time, but will learn to deal with it.

When I was a kid it was scooby doo just because I loved the mysteries lol. Now it's the Simpsons because the show is hilarious and the catch phrases are awesome. WORST EPISODE EVER! LOL
