I would say it would be Lance Cairns, followed closely by Brett Lee.

lance Cairns hit a ball out of the Melbourne Cricket Gorund and into the carpark. The MCG is one of, if not the biggest ground in world cricket so that was a massive hit.

Lee's hit against the West Indies in Brisbane off Darren Powell in 2005 was also very big as the Gabba is now a big ground and he hit it onto the top of the practice nets.

There is an apocryphal tale of a cricketer in the late nineteenth century who was batting at Lord's and supposedly, batting from the Pavillion End, slogged a ball with such ferocity that it cleared not only the Nursery End but also the practice pitches and the wall, and ended up on the Wellington Road.
That must've been some shot.

I can tell you who has hit the most significant sixer in cricket. It is Jawad Miandad. Miandad hit Chetan Sharma for a six when Pakistan needed four runs to win of the last ball of the match.

It is significant because in my opinion it affected the very psyche of the Indian cricket team as far as playing against Pakistan in Sharjah is concerned.

History wise then it was Garry Sobers when he was the first to hit 6 sixes in an over in county competitive cricket, the "biggest" being the final ball!I think it was against Glamorgan at Swansea in the sixties!

iirc Albert Trott is the only man to clear the pavilion at Lords. The biggest I've ever seen was by Brett Lee at Old Trafford in 2005, it bounced on the top of the stand!

I think it may be either Brian Lara, Martin Crowe or Steve Waugh. I have recollections of their respective BIG six hits and the commentary at the time, suggesting each hit would make the record books.
