My doctor prescribed me FORTAMET Extended Release for my PCOS to help with weight loss, ovualtion etc...The thing is i have always had my period the same time of the month every month...But the doctor siad that doesn't mean i'm ovulating it could be break through bleeding that people think is reg but its not..So along with the meds he said to buy ovulation tests fromt he store and use those...my question is....
Does it really matter which one you use clear blue, answer or walgreens brand?
Second, it comes with 7 tests in one box, so when extactly do you start testing? after your period? Or am I suppose to buy a box every week??
If anyone has any ideas or suggestions with any of this please let me know...also is anyone else taking these meds?

I'm taking regular met but I can answer some of your questions about OPK's. My RE suggests ClearBlue OPK's and they were rated number 1 by consumer reports. However, for the first few cycles you may have to try a few diff. brands til you find one that you like and works for you. I like the Clearblue and the clearblue digitals. To figure out when to start testing--go here and there is a chart http://www.peeonastick.com/opkfaq.html#8

You will probably use 5-7 tests each cycle so one box per cycle should be enough. You may want to consider charting your basal body temps in additon to the opks to verify ovulation.
