it's getting so i can't stand ie, but am told that ie is the only server...i have dsl and don't want to switch to satellite tv...help!!!

firefox, it is safer than ie and faster and is open source so is very customizable, once i started using it i couldn't go back to ie here is the link http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/

you are mixing up 3 different and unique things.
IE is not a server, its a piece of software called a browser. If you don't like IE, then download firefox at www.getfirefox.com. Its an alternate browser that works better in most cases than IE.
What browser you use has no bearing on whether you have DSL or something else. Leave the DSL and just switch your software.

Internet Explorer isn't a server. It is a program. You use it to interface with the Internet.
You can use Firefox or Netscape among others if you want to change browsers.
From your question you might mean your Internet provider. You are getting DSL from your phone company. If you have cable available you might try cable for your provider.
