I think it is awful. My dad has to go and I wouldn't wish that on the worst criminals. Patients are treated awful...my dad is a Vietnam Vet and basically they tell him that all of his health problems are due to getting old and not what happened in Vietnam. My family has no history of diabetes, heart problems, or neurological problems. My dad was exposed to agent orange and according to the VA, that had no effect what so ever on his health. The VA doctors also don't take the previous diganosis of private physicians into consideration. My dad previous doctor, before he was on Social Security Disability says there is now way to explain his problems except for agent orange and submitted a written diagnosis to the VA for my dad to be approved for VA Disability. He has been turned down countless times and we have finally hired a lawyer. Another thing about the VA is that most of their physicans are P.A., physicians assistants. There is nothing wrong with that, it is what I am going to school for, but when they are taking the advice of someone straight out of only 6 1/2 years of college over someone who has had years of experience and ofter specialized studies in certain systems, it just isn't right. Our veteran are being mistreated and it will only get worse...

I am a Disabled Vet -- and I can say that my health care has been good (for me at least), and I don't have any complaints about the service.
The worry that I would have for the future is something that others may point out -- for the 2008 elections, there are individuals running for President of the US with NO (as in ZERO) Military Experience and/or have an uncaring/disrespectful attitude towards the Military/Servicemember (in general) or are outrightly hostile to the Military/Servicemember in the first place.
As a Disabled Veteran, and as a Military Retiree, I know that I am paying close attention to all the bills going through the Congress that deal with these issues. I also am paying close attention to the 'personal views' of those who have declared themselves 'candidates' and are considered to be serious 'runners' for the office.
I fear at this time that with a Congress PACKED with individuals who have NO (and I mean it! -- only about a quarter of individuals have any experience with the Military at all), and those who have a proven record of being anti-Military (Hillary Clinton is a good example here -- Clinton's Presidency was a prime example of not caring about our servicemembers/veterans with all the cuts in budgets), our Health Care System (Both Military and VA) is going to SUFFER ... and Suffer it will if they stay consistent to their current positions.

It has not helped me at all and I am a vet with service related injuries. I have had my claims denied twice for service related back injury that has caused permanent nerve damage and required surgery to remove a disc. God bless them anyway I hope the money and treatment I did not receive goes to someone coming back from Iraq that needs it more.

I am told it is pretty lame. If we get Hillary in we will all have the same quality health care. (no quality, in case you aren't conscious)
