You are not alone, although it does feel like it most of the time.
Sadly, we are trapped by the 2-party system, and the only people that can change it are the 2 parties. Quite the paradox.

Yes. The current republican party is not really in line with what I believe right now. But the democrats are so far from my family values, that I can't even think about supporting them.
The war issue is not a huge deal for me. The terrorist issue has to be dealt with and it is better to do it over in Iraq than here in the USA. I don't want car bombs going off in my city or suicide bombers going off at the grocery story.
What is killing me is the
1) government has expanded at record pace
2) the republicans were spending like drunken sailors
3) that nothing has been done about the illegal immigrants in this country and the fence has not been built.
Politicians seem to be more concerned about staying in office and playing game than they do about actually doing something productive. For example, the issue in the senate regarding the war is a huge joke.
Democrats support the troops, but we don't believe in the mission and this is another vietnam. What a bunch of crap!

I agree with you. Neither party is based on a concept of individual rights. I registered Libertarian and I vote Libertarian when my vote doesn't count (e.g., I live in MA so this would include Presidential elections). But when it's close, I have to pick the party that will protect the rights to do what I want to do and I don't worry about people who want to do something else. I understand why gays are angry at the GOP, but I'm not gay - what I am is employed, and so I'm angry at the Democrats for opposing the tax cuts. My economic freedom is just as valid, just as sacred, as their sexual freedom, and I am no more selfish than they are for wanting my freedoms protected from government intrusion. I wish there were a strong party that would protect both our rights but there isn't and so when it comes down to it I have to vote my own rights.

Actually, I look at it as a choice between coporate welfare whores (some Republicans) and borderline socialists (most Democrats). The rest are either a mixed bag of whack-jobs who don't deserve their positions of power, or they're marginalized "true believers" who can't get traction due to the power structure within their own party.

Democrat, Republican, it doesn't matter, both parties are self-serving groups. Our government is controlled by big business, special interest groups and lobbyists. This is from 1992, http://www.opensecrets.org/pubs/law_wp/wealth06.htm It is argued that by electing wealthy people into congress they will be less influenced by lobbyists and special interest groups. I believe this page will put that argument to rest. http://www.cbpp.org/12-28-05tax.htm It is the elite, those with wealth and those with political power that are destroying America. To say anything different would be a fools errand.

That's a really ugly superlative "Warmonger". Just like they called Vietnam Vets "Baby Killers".
Go stand with the Communists. We don't want you.

I feel like a woman without a party and without a country. We have taxation without representation. Nothing this country does is in my name. We are pirates. Stealing natural resources under the guise of fighting terrorism

Absolutely. Never has truth been more unpopular! After 100 years of being brainwashed to evolutionism and moral relativism there are very few left out there who can think at all.
