Amazing, you ask the quesion in the Philippines section and the first 9 answers are for non-Phillipine locations.
I want to retire to the Philippines myself and I am leaning towards Tagaytay or the Visayas as was mentioned earlier.

i hope you mean in the philippines cause you posted this under the category :-) Most retirees choose to stay near the beach area. I know european folks who opted to retire in La Union and there are several retired couples (including an american aunt) who've been moving in to settle during the past ten years. Japanese however prefer to retire near golf course estates.

Better choose a Philippine countryside if you are a nature lover. Also, you can buy your own condominium here in Makati City. If you want, surf AYALA LAND, Inc.

I retired in Tagaytay City. On top of a mountain, it's cooler in summer and has cleaner air. Bunch of expats like me are here too

if youre going to retire here in the philippines, its better if you retire in boracay (beach paradise) or palawan (another beach paradise but much better than phuket) and locals there are friendly and helpful

Visaya area of the philippines. In the province. Stay away from the bigger cities and tourist traps. You'll be treated well and appreciated. Learn the language. Even tho they mostly all understand english, you'll want to know what they are saying as well.
