My boss waited till I went to Macdonalds and turned my radio off. It was on low enough to just barely hear!! I have it on cause most of the time you can actually hear a pin drop on our carpet tiles.

To:- Chadders, Champagne and at-haire and Starlet, I can't be bothered to turn it back on as she has already been petty this morning. To penismightier or is it penispunier - loser. To Prettyinpink, Answers gets me through my working day. To Robfer. What a good idea. To momron, I know it was her, only two of us in office. Dear billythekid55uk - can't be bothered to give you a comment.

To - toadoflossers you wouldn't last here as long as I have done. Once I have opened the post in the morning (they're about five people who work in this office) and dished out my day is done. Till its time to do outgoing post. Can you imagine what that is like?

Your radio shouldn't be on when you're away from your desk for lunch. Consider yourself fortunate that your boss permits you to listen to the radio at all.

You're there to work, after all. If you were supposed to be enjoying yourself, they wouldn't call it "work".

Surrounding employees probably could hear your radio and complained to the boss. Surely you can solve this problem with a set of earphones. You'll hear your radio better and no one else will.

Most humans will do exactly what your boss did and do the passive aggressive turning off the rado while you're out to avoid having to say "your radio, although extremely low, is still audible to us all. Most of us do not like blue grass music but if all of us bring in a radio, then..."

Fix this before a small thing like this becomes the reason you're called names behind your back.

There is actually a law about having radio/tv on in workplace.

It may be the premises don't have legal right/license to broadcast radio.. even in a small office. They may need a special license.. more than a home tv/radio license.

I think thats partly one reason why a lot of motorway service stations have their own radio type dj music shows, either in-house production or sourced from specialist firms.

Ohhh i hate it when they do things like that. It has been proven that productivity rises when their are music in the back-ground, when i worked it was so depressing we were all down and out until we begged the boss for a radio. Then it was so nice, the customers commented on it. I hate going into a shop and it is dead quiet and people speak in hushed voices like in church. Feels to funeralish to me. Turn your radio back on and tell him the you can concentrate better with the radio on softly.:))))

Having a radio on at work is not a good work ethic. You are there to prove you can work without a crutch. A radio can be distracting and set up an employer for a law suit. We had a girl sue our company and fellow employee I worked for because she could not hear due to someone else's radio. Her hand was cut off by the way!

are you sure it was your boss, maybe another employee turned it off. sometimes even a low noise can irritate someone to do things like that. Just ask around and don't make a judgment until you find out why they turned it off. Maybe get yourself some ear phones or turn it off when you are away from your desk.

Maybe your boss was just trying to save the batteries.

Aaah. It all becomes clear. What a petty b1tch she must be. How do you cope with the boredom? Would you be able to get away with a personal mp3 player? Mines really easy to conceal. Good luck.

Must be a nice job - allowed to have the radio on AND play on the internet whilst you're at work. Any vacancies there for even bigger moaners I wonder........... Some people don't know when they're well off!

Do something different than your boss- have some balls and be direct. Just say to him/her "I noticed my radio was off when I got back. Does my playing it bother you?"

Then just see what the deal is and work out something. Maybe their former lover's song "Baby Got Back" came on and he/she just couldn't deal. You'll never know unless you bring it up.
