Guys, you gotta be careful.?

I'm 15 and decided to go undercover as a 12 year old girl on some chat room called Chatagogo (Awful) to see how many pervs are on the net. And there were so many old guys thinking i was a 12 year old girl, one was a 41 year old MARRIED MAN!

Just a word of warning guys be careful on them chatrooms!

how do you know he was a 41 year old married man, he could have been lying, just like you were. it may have been a woman, or any age between 15 and 70. But what you have said is true, kids should NOT go into chat rooms or on line to anyone where they are asked for or do give out any personal details, you never know who you are talking to.

given that all the links to 'chatagogo' on google are chatrooms for ADULTS with a singles/dating theme you should hardly have been surprised that they were all over the age of 12.

if i go into a chatroom called 'teenchat' i wouldn't expect them to all be in their 50's just because i'm pretending to be a teenager or pretending to be older than i am myself.

i agree with another poster, it's really old news and if you go into a chatroom that isn't aimed at your age group or simply lie to bait people you'll eventually find what you're looking for. meh.

i think you should be more careful than the people you warn here.. what's the problem with you by chatting at a smaller age than 18 and undercovering himself 12 year old girl?

I think a lot of people purport to be what they're not on the Internet.

There was a supposed girl of 12, stated "she" was 12, in a Pogo rooom one evening. She asked if anybody wanted to chat... this was in a 40s room! I immediately told her she would perhaps be safer either in a teenage room, or not telling people her age. I kind of took her under my wing. When asked about her parental supervision, she said that she stayed with her 19 year old cousin, who worked in the evenings and wasn't present in the house. I stayed in the room with her, to keep an eye on things, not even dreaming that she might be leading people on. She thanked me for being so kind to her before leaving some hour later.

I sat and thought about it afterwards, and wondered whether I had in fact put myself in danger, but nothing else ever came of it, so I guess it was either genuine, or a kid playing games with their elders.

However, that is an instance of either a child putting themselves in danger, or a protective woman with children of her own, placing herself in danger. I will never know how close I came to problems.

So everybody who reads this... the poster is right... be extremely careful with whom you speak to on the Internet. I already know several people who come on as somebody else, and I've also heard of bad goings on when people have gone to meet others from the Internet. Please take heed of this warning.

I had a fifteen year old stupid schoolgirl IMing me the other day saying how cute my pic was pretending at first did i know the answer to a question that i had not asked..i just made my excuses and said goodbye...that was very unsettling i can tell you.

thanks for the advice. but i only look for freindship on the net and i work with children, so i have to be really careful anyway. and if there are any pervs on yahoo answers, then your all sick.
