The superstition can be wiped out only by educating the people .
The knowledge of science can clear many doubts and thus reduce the superstitions.
Women education shall be a key to solve this for ever. Our rural India has a large population of illiterate women folk. This task of educating women should be taken on a war footing by the government and social workers all over.

superstition means Andh-vishwas in Hindi , there are very less claims about
Sati partha in india and its a bad custom not the superstitiousness again dowry and baalvivaah are the bad customs not the superstitousness, they all arived with coming of invaders in india form outside please understand our country is different in ancient time a girl of the age of 16 years old is considerd to be ready for merriage becuse our countries geological evirnoment . and i would like to say Andh viswhas mens superstitons is not that all bad after all even The word 'Believe' has a lie in between Be-lie-ve so if you are a believer in any case you have to trust upon a bit of lie . so don't worry this is the Sansara moving like this . God bless ( agin God is only A Belief i.e. be-lie -f ) a lie in between

By door to door education and better and healthy communication network. Also making them aware of people with their personnel and ill interests.
Common masses in rural areas are kept away from education and what is going around them. They are simple and innocent people and advantage of that is being taken by some miscreants, religious leaders and above all politicians for their own petty needs. So, some people particularly the youth of today need to come forward for mass education and spreading knowledge through community awareness programmes for getting rid of such superstitions from our society in particular and country as a whole.

only time can change that. I'm an American, and I heard a statistic that businesses lose like hundreds of millions of dollars on Friday the 13th because so many people call off and there aren't as many customers as usual. I dont think it has anything to do with India. Every culture has their own issues that change as the nation evolves.

Only by education and attaining 100% literacy. If people are busy with their work or carrier, rumours will not spread. So job opportunities must be created. If man starts believing his efficiency and acheives his goal he will not have superstitions.Good living condition and justice must be available to common man.Taking advantage of poorman's ignorance must stop.

It's not just in India. Maybe we Americans should start somewhere nearby....like the White House, for instance. After all, God told Dubya to go for it in Iraq.
Your superstition is another person's religion, and vice-versa.
