Wherever the road signs say they lead...unless you were in World War Two...then it was anybody's guess...because they went around and pointed all the road signs in the wrong direction to confuse the enemy.If you're being Philasophical...you don't know till you get there.

Rome is the usual place but I think they might have to lead one into another to eventually get to Rome - and how would the M1 go to Rome? Would the chunnel count as part of the road or do you include the ferries?

Rome according to the saying. Romans were the first to make proper raods for their troops and all roman roads were straight and lead to Rome.
