If you're talking about the functional parts....
a personal computer has 5 basic components:
1. Input (keyboard mouse etc)
2. Memory (both external and internal)
3. Arithmetic Logic unit (ALU) - perform the rigorous boolean algebra (aka binary/switching algebra)
4. Control Unit (aka clock, this synchronizes the whole unit)
5. Output (monitor speakers etc)
If you're referring to the materials,
mainly silicon, arsenide, boron, phosphorous, lead (for the chips and circuits)
plastics and aluminum (or some sort of alloy) for the casing etc.
