Also where should someone send their script? Thank you.

Well, it depends on if you use your own money to finance the picture or go through a studio. If you use your own, you get whatever the movie makes...once you pay your actors, crew, etc. If you finance through a studio, you will get a small cut from what the studio makes.

I'm not sure exactly where you would send your script. You might need to go to a studio and try and get an appointment with someone in charge. Good luck!

Depends on what is written in his/her contract. Some get a flat fee, some get a fee plus royalties. It's always negotiable.

I wouldn't send a script to anyone without it being copyrighted first - just as a precaution, mind you. It would be hard to prove that the latest blockbuster in the theaters was YOUR idea if it was never protected. That's a risk when you blindly send a script to Hollywood types.

Well, they'll get paid before the movie is made. So whatever price you sold you script for, then that's all you get. Most mid-level scriptwriters get about $750,000, that's with a few hits under their belt. Never send your script by mail, its best to go in person, although its a tough thing to do since they really object to walk-ins.
