I always thought the saying was, "theres a moose, a loose running bout the hoose".. I never realised there was a song, must have been over 35 to 40 years ago as my brother is in his 50's and was saying it when he was about 15

Lord Rockingham's Eleven was the backing group, with Red (with the dark glasses) Price on saxophone. I think they modelled the sax playing frog in the Pinky and Perky show on him

It was the "Lord Rockingham XI" who recorded the song, and I have a feeling that the lead singer was called Ray Lang.

They also had a hit called "Wee Tom" but I can;t remember much about that one.

this was lord rockinghams xi recorded in 1958 on decca 11059 its called hoots mon (in his band he had a womam organist called cherry wainer fantastic)
