I hope this is joke. I don't think that any guy would be that tacky to suggest that song. But just on the off chance this isn't a joke (God help your fiance), try another U2 song. My husband and I both love the "with or without you" by U2, but it wasn't appropiate for a first dance song. Instead, we played "beautiful day" at the end of the ceremony.

Sparks by Coldplay - I'm not sure if many people find it sad but I do, since it always reminds me of that feeling when you wish you had done something more or really told someone how you feel or something like that. Also the Weight by Bob Dylan/The Band. I dunno why but there's just an air of..well - sadness I suppose - about it.
LDN by Lily Allen makes me happy - I dont like the girl but her music's great and I love calypso.
Feel good song for everybody though (if you can't find the song, at least look at the lyrics - they're ace for making you feel better about life) "Everybody's Free To Wear Sunscreen" by Baz Luhrmann. It just applies to everyone and is great in every shape and form :D

Sad?
"A Song for Our Fathers" - Explosions in the Sky
"Street Spirit(Fade Out)" - Radiohead
"Sometimes" - Regina Spektor
There's three out of many.
As for what makes me happy?
"Day One" - Explosions in the Sky
"Blue in Green" - Miles Davis
"Mr. Tambourine Man" - Bob Dylan

"How do I live without you" Sung by, Leanne Rimes
Also, Sting, singing, "Every Breath you take"
This guy and I were in love, and he use to send it to me every day, to let me know he would always be with me; as I went about my days work
And he would text the words frequently.... Stings music will always have a place in my heart.
And classical, Faure's Elegy for cello. I love playing this piece.
Well, you had three!
Happy music for me.
Shotakovich, 'The Assult On beautiful Gorky'
Jemima Price, 'Two Boys'
Queen, 'Too much love Will kill you'

mine would be oasis -stop crying your heart out, last year a friend was dying of cancer and this is the song that seemed to be in my head all the time, the words are kind of what i imagine us and her saying to each other at the funeral (although this wasnt a song att he funeral), the words are just perfect though. the other which was at her funeral was a phil collins one, i cant listen to that song now, it makes me cry, she was the first person i know that had died, so it was very strange for me, it was also the first funeral i had been to
