Yes, the cost of living is MUCH cheaper in Texas! Some areas inside of Texas are more expensive than other areas in Texas, but you can rent an apartment for less than 600 dollars (300 pounds) a month. Oh, and the gasoline & tobacco is lots cheaper in Texas too.
We don't have free healthcare for everybody, though.

I think the middle of no where England is still more expensive than the center of a city in Houston, but I am not sure. For the same type of area (city, suburb, rural) Texas is definately a lot cheaper.
