It seems that everywhere there are polls that show that the support for the Iraq war is way down and everyone believes that we should bring our troops home. Also articles that bash Bush for this mess.
Are all of these really necessary?? I have to wonder why Bush is now in the middle of his SECOND term, if everybody hates him so much... And I also have to wonder, with the expanded media coverage these days, how hearing that a majority of Americans no longer support the war affects our troops that are fighting for us over there..
I can't say that I approve of every choice Bush has made, but he was elected a 2nd time and after 9/11 it seemed that most of America backed his decision to go. Now everyone wants a pull-out?? Anyone ever stop to think that pulling out of there now, may create more problems than it corrects??
I think we need to be showing our support to our troops and correct our Bush mistake by our votes in the next election. Stop making our troops think we don't care.

The question is simply whether you agree that regardless of why and how the US went over there, the most important thing now is that we ARE there and our men and women that are over there should be foremost in our minds and do you agree that all the media coverage that show declining support is only hurting our troops.. It's that simple..

Haven't you noticed ? Every day young American men and women are dying as a result of what's happening there. Also several thousand innocent Iraqi's have died as a result of what Bush has chosen to do. The war started on a false premise and not as a result of 9/11. The United Nations had it right Iraq was no threat to anyone because they were contained. In addition, with all the attention paid to Iraq who's chasing down the real terrorist and Osama ?

I did once say "Let no man live that would not die for his freedom", supporting the troops is of the out-most importance and should be seen as very distinct from opposing the war.

I feel that we went in on a shoe string force, we need to throw a million troops at this right off the top and as awful as it is we need to kill a mass number of insurgents.

The only way to correct the problem is to show that we are fully committed to a complete and total victory.

i agree, alot of people who live in these dictatorial countries look to America for hope and as strong and successful. we need this if we are to spread democracy to the world. i do not support bush and i did not ever support the war in Iraq, (i do support find osama). but now that we have screwed everything up over there we must finish. if we leave now it is and equivalent of a hit and run car accident. which is illegal in America.

If we are to make the world a capitalist democratic society we need to fight an economic war with them. like what Saudi Arabia is doing to Iran.
they are dropping oil prices so Iran gets less money since most people in Iran are on subsidized living they well get less money make them mad at there gov't eventually causing riot and the down fall of that nation.
One day when we are all dead and humans are far from being remembered there will be peace on this planet.

Bush cleverly combined American's desire to punish the Taliban for 9/11 with his own objective of attacking Iraq. The Congress failed in its duty of presidential oversight by allowing Bush to get away with the lie. Since the 2004 election a host of terrific books have been published that have finally awakened a majority of Americans to the deception.

This is just typical politics. Democrats and liberals were VERY upset about how the GOP embarrassed Clinton and had him impeached, then the close election in 2000 just upset them more. This has lead them to feel that their attacks on Bush, like Harry Reid calling him a loser in front of elementary school children, is justified. They feel that since the GOP embarrassed Clinton, it is acceptable for them to do it to Bush. Sadly, we are in the midst of a war, but politics will always take front burner.

Yes, we've been "staying the course" for almost four years and for what? So we can fight them over there instead of fighting them over here? What a bunch of propaganda poppycock.

I disagree with you.

This war was predicated on lies and false pretenses. People have paid and are paying with their lives (Americans and Iraquis) in a war that should not have been started and should be stopped.
Are we just to sit on our hands and blindly swallow whatever Bush and Co. tell us to swallow?
