When I was a child, every winter there was deep snow, and everybody owned a pair of wellies. Not so anymore. We have very little snow. Every Summer we had day after day of hot weather. April it rained for the whole month. And Autumn was windy. This too is no longer the case anymore. Is this down to the effects of glabal warming, and in another 20 years will our climate disappear leaving us with the same weather day in day out?

Some scientists claim its global warming, others claim this climate change is a natural cycle of the earth.

My moneys on global warming... although I do struggle to see why... we've been pumping horrible toxins into the air for over 300 years... why has this issue only taken such a dramatic turn recently... and more to the point... why is no one really doing anything about it?

Englands effort is nice... but if england went oxone friendly tomorrow it would only have a 3% impact on the world change...

Need to get America, China and India playing the game, or we have no chance of combatting this.

I answered a question like this a couple of times so I'll give you the same answer:

This is the effect of global warming which is caused by the burning of fossil fuels such as gas and coal and the clearing of trees. Clearing trees increases carbon dioxide levels and scientists believe carbon dioxide levels will double before 2050 to 750 parts per million.

And no, strictly it shouldn't happen but there are too many pollutants in this world. Some people however believe this is a natural process for us to get crazy weather which will eventually turn back to normal.

In fact, January 2006 was the hottest January on record in Toronto. I however believe this is nothing to freak about and some people *cough* tree-huggers *cough* are too concerned over this issue. One thing is certain however, don't expect too many white Christmases from now on.

yes we may have to worry about a doomsday, if the pollution is moving like this.the constant vigil and awareness can only change such a drastic situation and still our leaders, politicians and law makers are silent about the matters.it should come from the developed countries first, because they are responsible for the 75 percentage of the reasons incurred in climatic deterioration.but tragically they are hijacked by big business houses ,who are responsible for this pollution. they know how to use media and political strength to support their vicious aims for profit.but there will be a day when the normal citizens will come to understand the tragedy behind such things and they will reciprocate .you yourself is a good example that you understood what you lost during your lifespan.every citizen should work together to check and avoid the invasion of corporate greediness in his own future and totally the whole mankind is the sufferers.scientists are trying to find some organisms which are capable to absorb the carbon dioxide of the atmosphere with the toxic gases and we will hope they may succeed in their attempt.the main factor is we have to protect our mother earth from such a climatic death by constant vigil and care.otherwise, if we are ignoring this factor and things are under the control of the human greediness the doomsday is not far away

Hello CHICKETTE the what you described in your question sounds very simular to what we've had in the south east of england. I do not think it's down to global warming but winds and air currents that are blown from european countries like blizzards blown in from a cold country and heat waves blown in from a hot country. By the way.....we do not have a climate but a weather system....I learned that from the weatherman. I do think in twenty years time our weather condition will change and we could get another ice age.

This winter has been warm, but the last several winters have been quite cold and snowy. How convinent everyone forgets this when they make their dire predictions about global warming, even though the weather we are experiencing how has little to do with global warming and more to do than el nino.

Climates do not disappear, though someone more informed than me might be able to say whether they can be subject to a kind of climatic Law of Entropy, where differences even out.

I'de say we are feeling the effects of global warming now.... but I think it will take more than 20 years. You can look up weather sites, all of them usually give you ane estimate...;)

to call JFK a liberal interior the present context is absurd. He became greater conservative than George Bush ever has been. i won't be in a position of think of of one actual conservative in American politics. instruct me a Barry Goldwater today....would not exist. I shake my head on the so called conservatives now. they are all enemies of freedom and self selection....the liberals are a techniques worse. Liberals at the instant are not something yet an obedient mob, together as cutting-ingredient conservatives are anxious degenerate hypocrites. To hell with all of them.

I'd say the earth's getting warmer and there is a slight climate change, but I reckon there's nowt we can do about it, it's just earths evolution.

However, I'd rather embrace it than take steps to combat it...
