This Rex factor is way overrated!

Look at Manning's rookie year:
26 td's and 28 int's
qb rating 71.2
win loss 3-13

Rex Grossman
23 td's and 20 int's
qb rating 73.9
win/loss 13-3

And people continue to bash this kid! It's absurd! If that is your argument for a Bears loss you need to get off the kool-aid and look at the post season this year:
Manning = 2 td's 6 int's
Grossman = 2 td's 1 int
Hmmmm...can you not see the media has created a falseness in the maligning of a young QB.
Look at Eli for the Giants...I would take Grossman over him hands down but for some reason he gets no blame for the same type of season Rex had with an arguably more talented offensive unit. It's played out...get off the Rex factor bandwagon and acknowledge the player and not what ESPN makes into a story!

I would like to add this for the morons who cannot read...I did not put up Rex's rookie stats. I put up the stats as a first year starter for 16 games. Don't be afraid to sound it out and read it twice for the intellectually challenged...and for the ball licker who called me an imbecile....Rex has been in the league since 2003. Nobody is necessarily comparing Manning to Grossman...read the freaking question and answer it! The stats were merely DETAILS!

I'm with yah, they make way too much of Grossman. I don't personally think he's that great, but the media practically crucifies him every week. I'm impressed he finally made it through a season without injury, and I was very impressed with the "Dilfer-ball" he played last week against New Orleans.

By Dilfer-ball, I'm referring to when Dilfer won the bowl with the Ravens, he wasn't "winning" the games on his arm, but he made sure he wasn't "losing" them either. That's exactly what Rex needs to do to win the Superbowl. Make plays when he can and when he can't, don't force it, punt and let the D handle it.

Grossman is not a rookie. And he's no Manning.

If he were playing for any other team in the NFL he would have been benched early in the season, but the Bears-D was good at getting him second chances. Basically, he's coat-tailed his way into the Superbowl on the defense. I'm not saying Manning hasn't had bad games too, but Manning has proven himself as a good QB, leader, and controller of the line. He makes up for bad games.

Grossman is also, if what people say is true, a trash talking jerk on the field, and that makes me like him just a little bit less. Sportsmanship counts for a lot. But, that's neither here nor there when when talking about his abilities as a thrower.

I agree, the QB element is somewhat puffed up. the terrific against between the worst, and there are various different aspects of the sport. check out the 365 days whilst Tampa gained with Brad Johnson. How concerning the infamous Dilfer? solid D can win you a identify in any league. check out the Pats the 365 days they beat down Mike Martz and his offensive genius (and weapons). I do think of that the bears have a valid shot (I mean they are interior the sport). in actual reality they might desire to no longer be 7 component Underdogs. although, do no longer forget approximately Freeney, McFarland, and Mathis on D. the communicate has all been approximately Bob Sanders, and deservedly so. i think of it would make for an attractive sport. P.S. i do no longer even like the bears and that i can not stand GROSSman. you do no longer might desire to offer him props for procuring this a techniques, this is been all working and protection. pass Phins, AFC

Let me see here. Is it his fault he hasnt started every game? Yeah. Come on he cant even make it through a whole season until his fourth year. Lets look at this years stats.
Peyton Manning.
39 tds 9 ints.
101 rating.
Rex Grossman
23 tds 20 ints. (are you kidding me?)
73..9 rating This is not Rexs rookie yr. dont try to make it look like it is.

This is what were concerned with this seasons stats. I think this ends the discussion. Rex dont make a pimple on Peytons %$#
Have a great day and Peace out.............

Wrecks Grossman is a stupid FIB. He sucks. Period. Peyton's head is disproportional to his body, and he should quit doing commercials. While I'll be the first to admit he's the better QB now, Peyton still is no Favre. All you Colts fans who disagree come talk to me after Peyton gets a ring (assuming they beat the crappy Bears), wins 2 more MVPs by himself, no more of that co-MVP garbage (still non-consecutive though), and starts in 110 more consecutive games to tie 257, which will be more if Brett comes back.

Fine he is a rookie, if you want to call it that. He played some last year and this is his 4th year in the league. That doesn't mean he is better then Manning as a whole body of work. It means he had a first better year. Also had a different team and maybe if he played for the Colts he might have been that bad.

You idiot. This is NOT Rex Grossman's rookie year.

and Rex's team went 13 and 3 BECAUSE OF THAT DEFENSE. NOT because of Rex's play. If Grossman didn't suck so much, they would of went 16 and 0.

He had a couple of very bad games and once a news agency picked it up they all did. News people jump on the bandwagon and it becomes absurd. Just like the fact two black coaches are making it to the Super Bowl.

I agree with you completely but I have a point to make. While Peyton in his rookie year wasn't amazing, he didn't have a great defensive unit at that time to bail him out. That being said, I do think that they are making too much criticism towards Rex.

I think what they are trying to say is that great teams that get this far usually have a more reliable, consistent QB than Grossman.
