No, no. Quimby's voice is based on JFK (well, Quimby himself is based on JFK). Homer's voice was based on Walter Matheau, but then slowly morphed.

No, I've heard it was a cross between Fred Flintstone and Bullwinkle. One thing I did hear from M.G. is that the "J" or "Jay" in Homer J. Simpson came directly from Bullwinkle J. Moose.
It's Mayor "Diamond Joe" Quimby that's based on the Kennedy's.

I've never heard that. I know Mayor Quimby (Joseph "Joe" Fitzpatrick Fitzgerald Fitzsimmons Fitzhenry Quimby, Jr.) is supposed to sound like a Kennedy family member.
