I already have Broadband on my with my computer and would like to use a laptop for sending E-Mail. My phone line is BT, but Wanadoo provide the internet service. Do I need some kind of 'splitter' or 'router'? Will BTcharge me for sending E-Mail?

You could buy a router... as the gent above suggests.
You could buy up to 2 network adapters (both your desktop or laptop may have one in already) and a cross over ethernet cable and use ICS (Internet Connection Sharing) to let your desktop share its network connection with your laptop. The windows help on ICS is quite good... tells you what to do and how tto do it.
If your Wanadoo box has already got a spare network port, just connect your laptop to it with a straight-through ethernet cable and configure your laptop to use the broadband too.
If your wanadoo box connects by ethernet you could also buy a small hub and a couple of straight through ethernet cables to achieve the same effect.
Plus all of the above will allow you to move files between laptop and desktop.

You should get a router so that you can connect both machines to your internet connection. There is no cost for sending e-mail.

Now the laptops are coming preinstalled with Wireless card once check for it . Or you need to share the Internet connection.

You do not need anything than the spliter. Did you recieve from the wanadoo
