No. it is not racist and it never has been. Just because organisations such as the BNP have adopted it that doesn't mean it is racist to fly the flag. The BNP don't speak for everyone.
The only people who are offended by things like this are white liberals, who think they have been appointed the voice of the minority. Since when has one had to be a nationalistic 'fool' to fly their own flag?
I was particularly enamoured with Libra's comments. So full of it, on her high horse and yet making the same stereotypical assumptions about people that the hand-wringing liberals profess to hate so much. You people really cannot see your own hypocrisy, can you?

it is not, yet a super form of the folk who brag concerning the flag are racists - so it basically supplies it a foul call. St George grew to become into unquestionably from Palestine, meaning he grew to become into Brown not white. it is totally stupid, how the BNP are completely oblivious to the undeniable fact that St. George grew to become right into a brown guy. I do agree regardless of the undeniable fact that, that the English could be waiting to fly their flag of their own united states of america. yet regrettably, your united states of america is on a super down fall love! Islamic extremism is increasing promptly - and the folk's techniques variety from a ways too liberal (aka terrorists have rights too) or racist pricks who basically choose all human beings to be kicked out. the two way none of those strategies are sturdy for the united kingdom's financial device. This united states of america is rotting earlier my eyes i'm afraid. with the help of how i'm not English i'm Indian, and that i'm asserting this. so long! i'm shifting out lol!

Arsenal represent a club not a country. Secondly and moreover, the Union flag represents several countries.
It would seem very clear and logical even for the most ignoramus nationalistic fool.

Yeah, I agree. The Arsenal fans should be up in arms and protesting about it by not going to any games unless the ban is lifted, but they wont cos theyve got no principals !!! Now you see why all the English players keep walking out - its like little France in there.
F*ckin bunch of French poofs............
P.S Karl, what war was that ?

The reason why the union jack is considered to be racist if a particular organisation uses it is because the racists who hide behind the guise of patriotism use it as their symbol.
If they didn't use the flag in a negative way organisations would be proud to have it flying outside their buildings etc. when I think of the union jack I think of the shaven headed BNP yobs who want all non whites and british to go back home - the ones who attack non british simply for being non british.
Don't blame 'liberals' about the connotations of the union jack, blame the BNP and such groups.

This strikes me as fairly silly and heavy-handed. It's not racist to love your country and be proud of it and fly its flag. A bit jingoistic, maybe, but not racist. It *is* racist to call black players n!ggers, c00ns or black (expletive deleted)s. Why not have stewards throw fans out if they hear them shout this kind of filth rather than just wearing a flag?
BTW, which of these words is a racist epithet? Frog, Kraut, Pom, Limey, Yank, Sp!c, Wop. I don't know, but none of them are seen as nearly as offensive as words based on skin colour. (Having said that the spell checker doesn't like the Spanish-based one!) Just a thought.

Although I will never stop supporting my team. This is the sort of ridiculous PC nonsense that would certainly stop me going to the ground (buying a season ticket). I wouldn't visit a club that implemented such a thing either......
