The First Continental Congress was held in 1774 in Philadelphia in Carpenter's Hall. It was convened to try and avert a collision with Great Britain over the Taxation issue and to unite the colonies in the Boycott of English goods. See

I think it was more like 1774 or 1775, more probably like 1774.
