India like any other vast country is a country diverse in nature. Each region has its own specialty and should feel secure in its identity. Just like brothers in a family each region will have its turn in the limelight. Is there any particular rreason you feel this way. I have a lot of friends in the area and they seem very content. There are a few bad apples trying to sow discord due to foreign influence. But then I am sure you are familar with the Divide and Conquer strategy so commonplace by now. India has always been one and will remain one, and all members of its family are equally cherished, loved and valued.

Never....otherwise there would have been freedom struggle by those states.....the thing is that their culture is a combination of hinduism and buddhism.....that is why that portion is little isolated...and there is no such things like mainland....only one land INDIA....and the people of north east india understands that..thank you.

It is to be understood that no one shows any less treatment to others. Take for the instance of Punjabis, Gujarathis, Rajasthanis t hey go everywhere for their business or employment. Similarly, Keralites travel allover the world. People from Tamilnadu and Andhra also go to several places for employment. Biharis also go to different parts of the country. But normally we find less people moving out from their state particularly, from north east, West Bengal, Orissa, Maharashtra.
It is only their non willingness to move out is preventing them from progress not due to Any differentiation shown to them by the main land.

Yes they do... most people dont even seem to realize these states exist.. most of my friends think everyone who looks like that comes from china or tibet or nepal or something.
I know it's pathetic, but that's the truth. But of course, there are many exceptions!
