If you already turned on the printer and is on line the problem that most likely occurs is with the print spooler. The print spooler is a program that temporarily stores the data to be sent to the printer. This is the reason that when you click the print icon, in a matter of seconds the application finishes the print job. But in reality it is still printing. The print spooler continues the job of sending the data to the printer. When the printer has a problem, like a paper jam. The data that is being sent to the printer has to stop, but commonly this data is not erased and when the printer is ok again, it keeps sending this data. To erase this manually, right click the printer icon (at the taskbar and not the icon from the driver you installed) and click the last document that is not successfully printed and click cancel or cancel all documents if there are too many. Then turn off the printer and on again, this should fix it. If not, try checking the connection of the printer and the CPU. If it still does not work, check if a paper is still stuck in the printer and remove it if necessary. If this still doesn't work, restart your computer and the printer. If still it doesn't work, re-install the printer's drivers, it may be corrupted.

If the printer is online then the printer and computer are communicating properly.
If the printer is going through the motions of printing but is spitting out a blank page then your cartridges are dry. This happens after about 30 days of not using the unit. You Will need to replace the cartridge.
If the printer is doing nothing, cancel all your print jobs in your print manager turn off the printer, restart the computer and turn the printer back on, this will clear the print spooler.
Try again.

What does the panel on the printer say? Does it have lights on? You really need to look at the printer manual to see how it indicates whether it is online and ready, as they are all different.

Click on 'My computer'. Click on 'Control Panel' on the left side. Click on 'Printers'. There should be a printer in the list, and it will say online or offline.
