I have a plastic grid with squares with a cross stitch set but no instructions. What is the grid for?

You stitch on the plastic. I've made many ornaments like that.

Each piece of Aida has a certain count per square inch. For example, I tend to use 14count. This grid probably helps you work out where the square inches are and also where you need to start, IE. the centre.

Are you sure it's not a plastic cross set, instead of a cloth one? Some designs are worked on a plastic backing, so you can use them for structural items, such as models, decorations, tissue box covers, etc.

it sounds like plastic canvas for making things like coasters and 3d things such as boxes
