Life!!!
Yes.That's what we are supposed to learn. How to live. That's my question too. I've just asked it trying to get a better answer but to me this is the most reasonable reason for living in this unfair world.
Now I ask you another question. You said life is brutal and unfair. If you were told to leave this earth in two seconds would you do so?
That's th beauty of life.
The unfair things make the fair ones beautiful.

You answered your question yourself. All religions aside. Life is what we make of it for each other. We are here only once, at least consciouly. Very few people , if any actually see a past life. That issue is up to interpretation. Anyways we will not remember what we did or who we were after we die. Do you remember a past life? anyways our lives should be used to strive for enlightenment. Become the best that you can be. Not in the sense of job or social status. Be the best mother, father, sister, brother, daughter, friend and neighbor to every person we share this life experience with. After all , we are all one species. Human. Doesnt matter what religion you are, what color, what language or anything else. We are all the same inside. Their is a higher spirit than us, one that we cannot explain. So just live your life as the best person you can be and try to bring out the same in everyone we meet, with a smile and a loving knowledge that we are all one family. You feel life is unfair, because so many people put so much pressure on themselves to be this, or succeed at that. Quit trying to impress your neighbor or the guy down the street. Be a good father or mother and the rest will take care of itself . Have faith.

Everything has clarity and definition, and there is variety as well. You're in a relaxed position indicating that you feel strong and confident about the way things are progressing. The sun feels good and colorful butterflies surround you. These are all the options and opportunities that you have right now, and they are plentiful. They can also signify the people in your life right now. Bright, energetic and beautiful, you are surrounded by positive energy from most every direction. This is a wonderful time for you where you are the one who's in charge of your life, and things are going extremely well. Seize some of those opportunities

No- seriously...

The meaning of life is just that- Life.

Life is meant to be lived as best as we can manage.

It is not without meaning unless WE choose it to be. The lesson from the perceived "brutality" which you mention is that we take action and live with the consequences.

Cause and effect.

Life is for living and experiencing consciously. If you so desire. You can just float long too if you prefer.

Life is never unfair- only "interestingly challenging".

Be.

Life – it has a meaning and loving purpose - you just have to find your purpose and live it.

I believe every person is here for a definite purpose. Each person is special and valuable; that refers to me, you, your family, friends, in fact everybody! There is a loving plan for each of our lives here on earth and there is no such thing as coincidence. I don't believe that anything in life happens by chance and that every aspect of our lives points to something deeper.

You need to decide now to live for God rather than for yourself. You spend your life on Earth preparing yourself (as best you can) for death. I don't see death as a scary, negative experience, but birth into a bliss filled eternal life with God. I believe that this is something you have to consciously choose or not during your life on earth.

The meaning of life is for us to discover that we are true children of an infinitely loving and merciful God, to find out what our responsibilities are to our Creator, and to fulfill those responsibilities. Each of us is called to affirm, accept and develop the talents God has given us. -

I believe that we all have different lessons to learn. To build our strengths and lessen our weaknesses. Yes I agree life is brutal but somehow we all make it through some more scarred than others. I believe the ultimate goal is to worship God and help others.

The meaning of life is for each person to decide for themselves, and be content with that. Not to be mean, but if you say that life is so unfair, then you probably have not tried much to do all the things you wanted, or fight for the things you loved.

Life is what you make of it. You are alive, aren't you? So live! Don't waste your time on here asking questions that you think will clarify hings, when all you get are answers that ridicule you. No one can answer this question for you, only you can answer it through LIVING.
