there are good brands for skin care like la mer, chanel, neutrogena, kiehls, etc, & it makes me confuse if i have 2buy things like cleanser, toner, moisturiser, eye cream. im using neutrogena cleanser, clean&clear toner and moisturiser right now, but the toner and moisturiser dont help me that much.
my mum said, that i better go to skin clinic, and let the doctor do the rest. but what i dont like about going to skin clinic is you'll have your great skin as long as u use the stuffs what the doctor give u, because once u stop using those stuffs, u will have ur dull skin back. and during the treatment you cant wear make-up.

so wut do u think? should i go to skin clinic, or i just buy skin product from those brands?
so far, im thinking about la mer. but since it is quite expensive, i must think twice before i buy it because im afraid i'll get no result of using it.

if u think i dont hv to go to skin clinic, wut is the best product for my oily skin?

I must agree with some of the other girls, I used things like clearasel, clean and clear etc as i have oil skin that is prone to breakouts, I have tried everything. Then i found soap water and a flannel plain and simple! But then last christmas i got a three step clinque sample and i havnt turned back since, not only is my skin soft and oil free it is also vary rare that i get a break out! The set in specially for oily sklin and is made up of an exfoliating facial wash it leaves your skin feeling tingly and actually clean, then there is the toner I use this untill it is clear so there should'nt be anything on the cotton pad when you have finished, then for the final step use the face gel (like cream) but not as greasy. I totally recomnd it!!!hope you sort it out.

Now, what alot of people do not realise is this: Alot of products on the market designed for oily skin may not actually be the best choice. What happens is, your skin will clear up for a bit, as all the excess oil is being eliminated, but over time (days actually) a "rebound" effect can occur. By this I mean, your oil glands will produce MORE oil to counteract the sudden relative dryness of your skin! you may actually be producing more oil than before. Neutrogena products are dermatologist approved, but some are too harsh (eg. acne face wash for oily skin) for your problem. You will most likely need a face wash/soap that is gentle, for example: Cetaphil gentle face wash (someone mentioned it before), or products by Aveeno. Try to stay away from brand products that may contain too much perfume components. They are not for you
In addition to this product change, you will have to clean your face regularly (not over-wash however), especially before bed. If you have acne also, a prescription skin cream/gel is good (eg: Differin adapalene gel) or anything with benzoyl peroxide as the active ingradient. If you live in a tropical/hot climate you will have to practise skin hygeine more than others (I am from the caribbean, so i know what you can be going through).
Your best bet is to make these changes in your face care, and make an appointement to see a good dermatologist for some further advice if you need it. They know best.

I believe the next big thing is going to be Votre Vu! This company is launching a new all natural French skin care line in September. The products derive from an 80 year old family owned business that has partnered with Votre Vu to bring the products to the states. I'd be happy to provide samples once we launch. We are talking Sisley quality at 1/3 of the price!

Hi
I have combo skin , Try CLARINS Gentle foaming cleanser & Toner and followed by a night cream or day cream , all for(ur) oily skin .
go to this page and get a beauty prescription
http://us.clarins.com/main.cfm?sec=cb&sub=2&action=ordo_bv&step=1
After you v done that you can search the web for reviews on each product and then decide if you ll buy it .
I dont think their products arent xpensiv as la mer and they always have freebies to give away at their in store counters.
Good luck

I don't have oily skin but I like neutrogena cleansers for the price. Also, try rubbbing lemon juice on your face before you take a shower, letting steam open your pores. Just a thought. If your parents have health insurance that'll cover the cost of going to a skin clinic, then go there. Otherwise, just stick to what's worked best for you.

I had the same issue! My face is way clear now, i used to have zits a lot on my forehead, I used lotion. It's from a dermatology, so you should most likely see a dermatalogist, they will recommend the right product. Proactiv doesnt work by the way!

I use clinique daily moisturizing in the square bottle..
it's for oily skin.. and I drink more water than people normally do..
it really helps my skin stay moist without that much oil production..
