That's such a great question, but the answer is two-fold: Of course they should have the right to a private life, they are human and every person is entitled to their privacy. At the same time, politicians, or any public figure of authority has to be very careful about the choices that they make, as those choices can very easily become public knowledge, in which case they should be prepared to deal with the consequences.

Yes politicians should have a private life in there home. Beyond that they chose public life and they should be a representation for there public life that shows true leadership. Compromised behavior is not desirable and really shouldn't be acceptable. A term in office isnt that long to ask a politician to be respectable.

I think politicians know what they are getting into, when they choose to run for office.

Character matters. No, the media shouldn't be hanging out on the front lawn during dinner. But Americans are interested in our politicians' private pursuits when they are a matter of character.

No, with power comes responsibility, our forefathers had no privacy, in some cases they where hung by England, or their families threatened, or their property seized. The where not perfect men, but were great men. People chose to become a politician with all the benefits of power, and name. Therefore they cannot serve the people honestly without inquiry. This was one of the reasons for the first amendment.

I personaly believe that every body must have their private life. And it is their basic human right. As far as they are doing the things on their own without using the post / power they have and act personally. So any one who is president / PM / Politician, act without involving their parties, post, that ACT we have to see as Private Act. and They must have right for privacy.

As long as that private life doesn't get investigated, shows hippocracy, or anything else embarassing. You don't see Bush, or didn't see Reagan, or Bush 41 having their private lives intruded on. Clinton brought everything on himself. To start he was a public figure behaving in a manner that many people found immoral. To lead, you must have the trust of the people. People found that they couldn't trust him.

Of course they should unless it's something damaging that doesn't serve the public interest and they don't practice what they preach. Politicians are public servants meant to represent the interests of the people that voted for them.
