i got the pipe of a mate very cheap as he is geting a new yoshimura pipe... there is only one pipe that is sold in australia to fit on the gt650 and its 4times the cost the viper pipe i got.and fitting the pipe will only take little modification

I would think that anytime you are putting on new pipes to any carburated engine you should rejet. The folks at Fith Gear Customs (see link below) claim to have designed pipes for your bike that slip on and do not require rejetting. So I guess its possible. But if you feel any hesitation, sputtering or stalling, where you had none before, I think you should rejet the carbs. I know it's only about a 50 cc difference, but you should be sure the pipe from the smaller engine will flow enough.
