Do yourself and your friends a favour.

You really got to go to www.peekamo.com and register for their free service. At peekamo, you can send free TXT messages to anyone in the USA and Canada from your desktop. You don't need to know their carrier or anything. Best part is that it is free, for you and the person receiving the TXT msg. Peekamo uses SMPP not SMTP. You don't have to worry about spam either. You can create groups too. I'm from Canada where if you don't have a plan, TXT messages to the US can cost upto 15cents! Check it out - it really works and its really free. and no spam at all.

Why pay the telco's when you don't have to right!

Contact your mobile operator - a lot of them offer this service as part of their package, or offer it as an additional paid-for service. There are very few ways to send text messages for free if that is what you meant to ask.

It depends what program you are using. You may simply wish to construct a text document. Either way you use the keyboard.
