i need to format my hard drive and have no disc- i dont even know anyone who has one - i have my key number - is there a way one can get their hands on this disc without paying out a fortune???

You can contact the manufacturer of your PC or Microsoft itself for a replacement CD.
As long as you have a genuine Serial number, the will provide you with a replacement disc cheaply or even free. However shipping costs must be paid.
The methods mentioned above lead you to illegal downloads.

u need a BOOTABLE CD without it is NOT POSSIBLE
or make one ...(ie)Download XP from I'net and burn it
