I got married on Valentines Day nearly 29 years ago. Each year I get her 2 cards and 2 gifts. She usually doesn't get me anything. Is Valentines Day intended for only females getting cards and gifts? We will usually go out to eat but I always pay for that too. I just wonder am I being envious of her getting all the attention or is it meant to be that way? Ladies, do you get your man anything for this occasion?

I get Hallmark cards and spray them with lite perfume. This year, I'm taking him to dinner and picking up the tab. It should be a two-way street. But I agree, it typically is a holiday that women sit back and want men to dote on them.

I married my wife on Valentines Day. She always has something planned on that day and i never know what it is or where it's going to happen.
I always get her the card and flowers, go out to dinner and a movie but she makes it a 2-3 day event like it was suppose to be something special.

Here, I think I'm doing the best I can with what I have, and I now must do more because someone else says so. As your standard-issue American, that does really gall. I won't even be anonymous in saying that I think this is a lot like my Catholic upbringing: built on guilt.

I always try to get my fiance something on valentines day and the anniversary of the day we got together. It's supposed to be a special time for the both of you.. Especially your wedding anniversary..

ugh...that is sooo cliche. The idea is just tacky. Better make it on Halloween and wear a Frankenstein tux, and she can wear a bloody mary dress!! itll be so much fun!!
