I have tried this and it doesn't work, I even have winzip and it still doesn't work

right click on the file
properties
if read only checked the un check it

else

open the file
save as another name
and change in the new file

Right click on the excel file u want to change goto properties and change attribute by removing tick from read only and do tick on archive...Hope it helps

Sometimes the workbook is protected so you cannot add info on it. In that case copy the contents, create a new workbook and paste it in.
