what should be the brand of burner and the name of the software to have a best in cd burning????

I use Nero, never had any problems.

Best in this case is a nebulous term. The best software is the software you are most comfortable with because most will get the job done but they all perform in a different way. Fortunately there are software packages available on line which you can download and try out free of charge for a few days. Magic DVD Ripper and DVD Ripper Pro are two examples of burning software which you can try out. The hardware -- most burners operate pretty much the same way so get the most value for your dollar by getting latest technology in a quality burner. The software interface between you and the device is most important . Good Luck!

Nero should be working fine, currently I am using Nero 7 and it works smoothly. I think Nero supports almost every type of CD-Writer or DVD-Writer.

dun kno bout the burner brand, but i've been using "nero" (burning software) fr quite some time an its pretty cool...

the best writer to use is Sony DVDR ...and the best software to use is Nero ..i don't think there is any other software better than Nero ...everyone uses Nero and every loves Nero ...i use Nero 7 and i have been using it since ...
for a writer i think Sony is good coz it lasts longer ..
