Well, a simple answer would be to work for a newspaper or a magazine, but there is a lot more to Journalism, it all depends on what you really want to do and on the availability of vacancies in your area of residence.

Working for a publishing house is of course the easy way out, but a degree is not enough. Did you intern in any publications before? if yes, then a big asset. What area do you want to specialize in?
- Politics
- Economy
- Fashion
- Sports
- Entertainment?

The more specialized you are, the better your chances.

Another option would be to work in a TV network, anchor perhaps, news editor, program editor etc.

Last but not least, public relations. PR agencies are always seeking people with media experience to boost their PR ranks. A person with a journalism background can help write articles, lobby the media to publish some news etc.

Almost anything.

I have a journalism degree and have worked for newspapers, in public relations, in retail management, and have run my own business.

The question is, what do you WANT to do with your journalism degree? Then make it happen.

Put it on your resume; your portfolio, however, will bear higher weight.
