So I have just come back from the doctors after going there with a pain in my left hand side

Its been there for agessss now, and the pain has become more frequent and begining to go into my left leg.

She examined me and it was really sore when she touched my left side and was even sore in the middle of my groin.

She did a urine test and she said there was blood in it and decided it was a water infection so i am taking trimethoprim 200mg for 3 days

I have come home and the pain is worse than ever, i think maybe its because she has prodded around, but the pain keeps making me jump with fright because sometimes its so sudden.

I realllllllly do think i have a cyst back, can cysts become dangerous, and are they supposed to hurt this much :(

They can hurt tremendously if they are infected or blood filled. You could be experiencing mittelschmerz (see link) during some of the pain, and you could be experiencing cysts during others. To have one cyst form on either ovary once a month is normal. It is the bursting of that cyst that releases the mature egg. Sometimes, even on women that do not have cystic ovaries they can get infected. They are then called chocolate or fluid filled cysts. Sometimes they can rupture. Sometimes that rupturing can cause a secondary internal infection that is much worse.
The blood in the urine sounds more like either a UTI (what you call a water infection) or endometriosis.
Since you say you have normal periods, I can only say your doc is most probably correct that you have a water infection.
I have included some links below to mittelschmers, a normal menstrual cycle, PCOS and endo in case you wanted to do some research on the other things it could be.

I just had surgery to remove 2 ovarian cysts...yes they can be painful and there are many reasons why a woman gets a cyst. Sometimes they "burst" on their own, but if they are large like mine where (size of a grapefruit!) then surgery becomes necessary. Also keep in mind that sometimes pain can radiate to another part of your body...I thought it was my stomach or gallbladder and so did the doctors...until I had a CT scan and ultrasound performed.

However, an ovarian cyst has NOTHING to do with blood in your urine. What in the world is a water infection? Did you mean bladder infection? Has she considered kidney infection or kidney stones?

Either way, you should be having an ultrasound and CT scan of your pelvic area and stomach area...this is ridiculous to let you go on in pain like this.

I used to get those sharp pains...like an "ice pick" stabbing. Before those arrived I used to get terrible pains in my thighs right down to my knees to the point I could not walk home from school and spent many times sitting on someone's front lawn. In those days doctors did not examine single girls...we only had MD's not OB/GYN's then. At 35 I got a cyst and had the same symptoms you described. The OB said it was caused from "stress." I thought that was a funny response but he recommend a book to me and I really learned it was true. It broke by itself within a month. The same symptoms reappeared during menopause. A D&C corrected the problem and it never reoccured after that. Not once. So, I hope that info helps.

i have had a cyst before when i was in high school....it hurt like hell and the pain got really bad and i couldnt walk properly......a short time after the pain was at its peak it popped inside me and i passed it over the next day with the majority of it passing immeadiatly......i think if the pain is really bad though u should return to the doctors as this isnt what happens to all people and they may have to remove it rather than wiat for it to make its way out

It sounds like kidney stones to me. they can cause a lot of pain. the blood in your urine is caused most likely by the stone making its way through the urinary track. No need to worry. The sudden pain is caused by the stone moving. If you have had cysts before this could be a sign that the cyst is breaking up and leaving the body through the urinary tract. The body may be trying to cleanse itself.
